- Disconnect: SJB C2280B.
- Measure the resistance between ignition switch C250-1, circuit CDC34 (WH/OG), harness side and SJB C2280B-45, circuit CDC34 (WH/OG), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes: GO to F6 .
- No: REPAIR circuit CDC34 (WH/OG). CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- F4 CHECK THE IGNITION CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: One-Touch Integrated Start (OTIS) Diode.
- Disconnect: Ignition Switch C250 (all vehicles).
- Disconnect: SJB C2280A (all vehicles).
- Disconnect: SJB C2280B (all vehicles).
- Disconnect: SJB C2280E (all vehicles).
- Disconnect: PCM C1232B (diesel).

- Is any voltage present?
- Yes: REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- No: GO to F5 .
- F5 CHECK THE IGNITION CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- For all vehicles , measure the resistance between ignition switch C250-1, circuit CDC34 (WH/OG), harness side and SJB C2280B-45, circuit CDC34 (WH/OG), harness side.
- For all vehicles , measure the resistance between ignition switch C250-5, circuit CDC33 (VT/GN), harness side and SJB C2280A-3, circuit CDC33 (VT/GN), harness side.
- For diesel engine vehicles without OTIS , measure the resistance between ignition switch C250-10, circuit CDC35 (BU/WH), harness side and SJB C2280E-8, circuit CDC38 (WH/VT), harness side.
- Measure the resistance between ignition switch C250-10, circuit CDC35 (BU/WH), harness side and the OTIS diode, input side.
- Measure the resistance between OTIS diode, output side and SJB C2280E-8, circuit CDC38 (WH/VT), harness side.
- Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
- Yes:
For vehicles equipped with OTIS
, GO to F6
.
For vehicles not equipped with OTIS , GO to F7 .
- No: REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the DTCs . REPEAT the self-test.
- F6 CHECK THE OTIS DIODE FOR A SHORT OR AN OPEN
-
NOTE: The diode should only have continuity in one direction.
- Using the diode setting on the Fluke 77-IV Digital Multimeter, test the diode.
- Is the diode OK?
- Yes: GO to F7 .
- No: INSTALL a new OTIS diode. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
-
- F7 CHECK THE SJB CONNECTORS
- Check SJB
connectors C2280A, C2280B and C2280E for:
- corrosion.
- pushed-out pins.
- spread terminals.
- Connect: SJB C2280A (all vehicles).
