Engine Mount - RH, Partial Body Lift: Installation

All vehicles
- Clean the engine support insulator-to-cylinder block and engine support insulator-to-frame mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
- Position the RH engine mount bracket in the vehicle. Position the RH engine mount in the vehicle. Position back the RH engine mount bracket and loosely install the 2 new front bolts.
- Position the RH engine mount to the front of the vehicle and install the 2 new rear bolts for the RH engine mount bracket.
- Tighten the 4 bolts for the RH engine mount bracket in 2 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
- Stage 2: Tighten a minimum of an additional 60 degrees.
- Position the RH engine mount in the frame.
- Lower the engine and the body until the new center bolt for the RH engine mount can be installed.
- Install the 2 new studs for the RH engine mount.
- Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).
- Tighten the center bolt for the RH engine mount.
- Tighten to 350 Nm (258 lb-ft).
- With the help of an assistant, lower the engine and the body at the same time.
- Remove the Universal Cab Hold-Down Straps and reposition the hoist to the frame of the vehicle.
- Position the steering shaft into the housing. Install the new steering shaft bolt.
- Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
- Position back the master cylinder and bracket. Install the 2 retaining nuts.
- Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
- Connect the brake tubes into the retaining clip.
- Install the ACL assembly and tighten the clamp.
- Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- Connect the wiring retaining clip. Connect the MAF sensor and the filter minder electrical connectors.
- Connect the retaining clip for the power steering cooler tube at the frame.
- Install new body bolts.
- Tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
- If equipped, install the running boards and 18 bolts.
- Tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).
- Connect the retaining clip for the transmission cooler tubes at the frame.
- Position back the ground strap and install the bolt.
- Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Position back the transmission cooler tubes on the stud and install the nut.
- Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Install the 2 new transmission mount retaining nuts.
- Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
- Install the 3 new LH engine mount retaining nuts.
- Tighten to 200 Nm (148 lb-ft).
- Install the 4 new RH engine mount retaining nuts.
- Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
- Install the 2 exhaust downpipe bolts.
- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Install the parking brake cable into the frame bracket.
- Connect the parking brake cable at the cable-to-cable union. For additional information, refer to PARKING BRAKE AND ACTUATION article.
- With the help of an assistant, install the hood and 4 bolts. Connect the hood lift rods.
- Tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).
- Connect the underhood light electrical connector and pin-type retainers.
- Connect the windshield washer hose.
- Install the brake vacuum pump. For additional information, refer to POWER BRAKE ACTUATION article.
- Install the secondary generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR AND REGULATOR article.
- Install the A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL article.
- Install the starter. For additional information, refer to STARTING SYSTEM - DIESEL ENGINE article.
NOTE:
The engine mount bracket bolts must be discarded and new bolts installed, or damage to the vehicle may occur. They are a torque-to-yield design and cannot be reused.

The engine mount bracket bolts must not be tightened more than 90 degrees after initial torque or damage to the bolts may occur.
NOTE:
Place a visible mark on the engine mount bracket and bracket bolts. Turning the bolt 1 flat of the bolt head is equal to 60 degrees.

It may be necessary to adjust the RH engine mount during the lowering of the engine for correct alignment.
