P1639 - Vehicle Id Block Corrupted, Not Programmed

P1639 - VEHICLE ID BLOCK CORRUPTED, NOT PROGRAMMED

Description:  This DTC indicates the vehicle ID (VID) block is not programmed or the information within is corrupt.
Possible Causes: 
  • Powertrain control module (PCM) programming
Diagnostic Aids:  Using a scan tool, program the PCM to the most recent calibration available.
Application    Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory 
All   Flash the PCM/transmission control module (TCM)/fuel injector control module (FICM). Refer to FLASH ELECTRICALLY ERASABLE PROGRAMMABLE READ ONLY MEMORY (EEPROM) .
