Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Depress the brake pedal to release vacuum from the power brake booster.
  3. Remove the coolant reservoir bolts and position reservoir aside. See Figure.
  4. Remove the brake master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER .
  5. Disconnect the power brake booster check valve.
  6. Remove the stoplight switch self-locking pin. See Figure.
  7. Slide the stoplight switch and booster push rod and bushing off the brake pedal pin.
  8. Remove the brake booster nuts. See Figure.
  9. Remove the power brake booster.
  10. To install, reverse removal procedure. Use NEW master cylinder retaining nuts.
