Test N: Left Turn Indicator Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument cluster White 16-pin harness connector C220a. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Place multifunction switch in left turn position. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster White 16-pin harness connector C220a terminal No. 16 (Light Green/White wire). See Figure. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system operation.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect multifunction switch Gray 11-pin harness connector C202a. Measure resistance of Light Green/White wire between instrument cluster White 16-pin harness connector C220a terminal No. 16 and multifunction switch Gray 11-pin harness connector C202a terminal No. 3. See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair turn signal system problem as necessary. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Light Green/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system operation.
