Oil Pan: Removal
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air inlet tube. Remove radiator sight shield. Remove hood weather seal. Remove wipers, left cowl vent screen and wiper module. Install Engine Support (D88L-6000-A) and lifting eyes. Raise and support vehicle. Remove engine mount through-bolts.
- Partially lower vehicle. Slightly raise engine with engine support. Raise and support vehicle, and remove starter. Drain engine oil, and remove oil filter. Remove starter wiring and ground strap. On A/T models, disconnect transmission cooler lines.
- On all models, remove oil pan-to-transmission housing bolts. Remove oil pan-to-crankshaft sensor shield bolts (if equipped). Remove remaining oil pan bolts. Remove steering shaft-to-steering gear pinch bolt. Separate steering shaft from steering gear. Compress front coil springs.
- Place transmission jack under front of subframe. Remove 6 rearward subframe mounting bolts. Loosen, but DO NOT remove, 2 forward subframe mounting bolts. Remove lower control arm-to-strut bolts. Lower subframe. Remove oil pan and seals. Remove oil pump pickup tube and oil pump (if necessary).
