Reassembly & Installation

    NOTE: Universal joint kits are to be installed as complete assemblies only. DO NOT mix components from other "U" joint kits.
  1. Position new cross in drive shaft yoke and press bearing cup just below snap ring groove. Remove "U" Joint Tool (T74P-4635C) and install new snap ring.
  2. Start a new bearing cup into drive shaft yoke. Position drive shaft "U" joint tool and press on bearing cup until opposite bearing cup contact snap ring.
    NOTE: Assemble universal joint using Yellow snap rings supplied in kit. If difficulty exists installing Yellow snap rings, install Black snap rings also supplied in kit.
  3. Remove drive shaft from "U" joint tool and install NEW snap ring. Check snap ring for proper seating.
  4. Install drive shaft slip yoke, remaining bearing, cross, and snap rings in same manner.
  5. Ensure universal joints are free to rotate easily without binding. If binding has occurred due to misalignment during assembly, strike the yoke with a brass or plastic hammer. DO NOT strike bearings.
