Test N: Right Side Air Bag Circuit Short To Battery (DTC B1996): Description

Restraints Control Module (RCM) checks right side air bag module circuit for shorts to battery by monitoring connector C423, terminals No. 23 (Green-Red wire) and No. 24 (Black-Orange wire). If RCM detects a short to battery, it will store Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1996 in memory and flash Code 6 on AIR BAG warning light.
