Test E: Driver-Side Air Bag Circuit Short To Battery (DTC B1916): Description

Restraints Control Module (RCM) checks driver-side air bag module circuit for short to battery by monitoring voltage at RCM harness connector C424 terminals No. 2 (Green-Red wire) and No. 3 (Black-Orange wire). If RCM detects short to battery either terminal, it will store Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1916 in memory and flash Code 3 on AIR BAG warning light.
