Test H: Transmission Control Indicator Light Always On

- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Cycle Transmission Control Switch (TCS). If TCIL illuminates and then turns off when cycled, TCS and TCIL operation are okay. Concern may be intermittent. If TCIL illuminates and does not turn off when cycled, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect PCM 104-pin connector. Inspect connector for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. Repair as necessary. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If TCIL stays illuminated, repair short to ground in circuit between TCIL and PCM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system. If TCIL does not stay illuminated, replace PCM and repeat RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (QUICK TEST) .
