Test Y: Air Bag Indicator Inoperative

  1. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove air bag indicator bulb and check for continuity between bulb terminals. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb. Clear DTCs and recheck system operation.
  2. Visually inspect instrument cluster printed circuit for cracks, hot spots or other damage. Replace printed circuit as necessary. See PRINTED CIRCUIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clear DTCs and recheck system operation. If printed circuit is okay, check air bag system for open and short circuits. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Repair as necessary and recheck system operation.
