Test T: Check Gauge Indicator Inoperative
- Start engine and observe gauges. If all gauges operate properly, go to next step. If any gauge does not operate properly, perform appropriate test for suspect gauge. See SYMPTOM INDEX table.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance of instrument cluster printed circuit between check gauge indicator bulb and instrument cluster printed circuit terminal No. 8 at Black 12-pin connector C287. Also measure resistance of instrument cluster printed circuit between check gauge indicator bulb and at instrument cluster gauge amplifier terminal No. 2. If both measurements are less than 5 ohms, replace fuel gauge and instrument cluster gauge amplifier. See GAUGES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation. If any measurement is 5 ohms or more, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
