Test J: Anti-Lock Brake Warning Indicator Inoperative
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module Black 40-pin harness connector C186. ABS module is located in left rear corner of engine compartment. Install 60-pin Breakout Box (014-00322), leaving ABS module disconnected. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect a fused jumper wire between ground and breakout box test pin No. 16. If anti-lock brake warning indicator illuminates, repair anti-lock brake system as necessary and recheck system operation. If anti-lock brake warning indicator is not illuminated, go to next step.
- Check continuity between terminals of anti-lock brake warning indicator bulb. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb. Check system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance between instrument cluster White 10-pin harness connector C288 terminal No. 6 (Dark Green wire) and breakout box test pin No. 16. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Dark Green wire between instrument cluster and ABS module. Recheck system operation.
