Test L: High Beam Indicator Inoperative
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn headlight switch to ON position. Set multifunction switch to high-beam position. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster Black 12-pin harness connector C287 terminal No. 6 (Light Green/Black wire). See Figure . If more than 10 volts exist, go to next step. If 10 volts or less exist, repair open in Light Green/Black wire between instrument cluster and multifunction switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and instrument cluster Black 12-pin harness connector C287 terminal No. 7 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire between instrument cluster and ground. Recheck system operation.
- Remove high beam indicator bulb. Check for continuity between high beam indicator bulb terminals. If continuity exists, replace printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb and recheck system operation.
