Test L: High Beam Indicator Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn headlight switch to ON position. Set multifunction switch to high-beam position. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster Black 12-pin harness connector C287 terminal No. 6 (Light Green/Black wire). See Figure . If more than 10 volts exist, go to next step. If 10 volts or less exist, repair open in Light Green/Black wire between instrument cluster and multifunction switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and instrument cluster Black 12-pin harness connector C287 terminal No. 7 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire between instrument cluster and ground. Recheck system operation.
  3. Remove high beam indicator bulb. Check for continuity between high beam indicator bulb terminals. If continuity exists, replace printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb and recheck system operation.
