Test Q: Left Turn Signal Indicator Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove instrument cluster to gain access to left turn signal indicator bulb. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Remove bulb. Check bulb for continuity. If bulb is okay, go to next step. If bulb is not okay, replace bulb. Retest system operation.
  2. Disconnect instrument cluster 16-pin harness connector C250B. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Place multifunction switch in left turn signal position. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster 16-pin harness connector C250B terminal No. 1 (Light Green/White wire). See Figure. If voltage fluctuates between zero and 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage does not fluctuate between zero and 10 volts, repair open in Light Green/White wire between instrument cluster and multifunction switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system operation.
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument cluster 12-pin harness connector C250C. Measure resistance between ground and instrument cluster 12-pin harness connector C250C terminal No. 12 (Black wire). See Figure. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace instrument cluster. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Retest system operation. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between instrument cluster and ground point. Ground point is located behind center of instrument cluster. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system operation.
