Removal & Installation

  1. Following scan tool manufacturer's instructions, upload module configuration information. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position then disconnect battery. Disconnect auxiliary power supplies (if equipped). Wait one minute for backup power supply to be depleted before continuing.
  2. Remove instrument panel steering column cover. Disconnect bulkhead connector from Central Junction Box (CJB). CJB is located in lower left side of instrument panel, near kick panel. Remove CJB nuts and bolts and position aside.
  3. Disconnect GEM harness connectors and screws. Remove GEM. To install, reverse removal procedure. Download configuration information from scan tool.
