Transaxle Drive Cycle Test
NOTE:
The transaxle drive cycle test must be followed exactly. Malfunctions must occur 4 times consecutively for continuous memory codes P0781, P0782, P0783, P1731, P1732, and P1733 to set, and 5 times consecutively for continuous code P0741 to set.
- After repairing any engine performance-related DTCs, erase remaining transaxle codes. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Ensure transaxle fluid level is correct. Move gearshift lever to "D" position. Come to a full stop. Press TCS (if equipped) on shifter handle. O/D OFF light should illuminate.
- Accelerate vehicle from a stand still to 50 MPH. Hold speed for at least 15 seconds (30 seconds above 4000 ft.). Decelerate and bring vehicle to a full stop. Press TCS and accelerate to 50 MPH. Hold speed and throttle position steady for at least 15 seconds (30 seconds above 4000 ft.).
- Bring vehicle to a full stop and shift transaxle into Drive. Moderately accelerate from a stand still to 40 MPH. This allows transaxle to shift into 3rd gear. Hold speed for at least 15 seconds (30 seconds above 4000 ft.).
- Move gearshift lever from "D" position to "OD" position. Accelerate from 40 to 50 MPH. This allows transaxle to shift into Overdrive. Hold speed for at least 15 seconds (30 seconds above 4000 ft.). Decelerate and bring vehicle to a full stop. Press TCS and accelerate to 50 MPH. Hold speed and throttle position steady for at least 15 seconds (30 seconds above 4000 ft.).
- While maintaining speed with transaxle in 4th gear, lightly depress brake pedal and release (to operate brakelights). Hold speed for at least an additional 5 seconds. Bring vehicle to a complete stop for at least 20 seconds with gearshift lever in "D" position. Repeat steps 1 - 5 at least 5 times. Perform QUICK TEST and record continuous memory codes.
