Test Y: Climate Control Illumination Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Integrated Control Panel (ICP) connector C274 (radio). Turn parking lights on. Measure voltage between ground and ICP connector C274 terminal No. 5 (Red/Black wire). See Fig 1 . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Red/Black wire.
  2. Measure voltage between ground and ICP connector C274 terminal No. 7 (Green wire) while rotating rheostat from left to right. If voltage range is .2-11 volts, remove and repair ICP at authorized repair facility. If voltage range is not .2-11 volts, turn parking lights off and go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument panel dimming module (dimmer switch) connector C221. Measure resistance of Green wire between ICP connector C274 terminal No. 7 and instrument panel dimming module connector terminal No. 6. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace instrument panel dimming module. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Green wire.
