Fuel Gauge

  1. Disconnect 6-pin fuel level sensor/pump connector. Connect one lead of Instrument Gauge System Tester (014-R1063) to Yellow/Brown wire at fuel level sensor and pump harness connector, and other tester lead to ground.
  2. Set tester to 15 ohms. Turn ignition on. Wait one minute and read fuel gauge. Gauge should read "E" (empty). Turn ignition off. Set tester to 160 ohms. Turn ignition on. Wait one minute and read gauge. Gauge should read "F" (full). Turn ignition off. If gauge does not operate as indicated, replace fuel gauge.
