Sedan & Wagon
- Turn headlights on. Operate high beams. If high beams operate properly, turn headlights of and go to next step. If high beams do not operate properly, see EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
- Turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove high beam indicator light bulb. Check continuity between terminals of bulb. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace high beam indicator light bulb.
- Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C253. See Figure
. Disconnect multifunction switch connector C250, or Daytime Running Lights (DRL) control connector C297, if equipped. See Fig 1
.
- Measure resistance of Red/White wire between instrument cluster harness connector C253 terminal No. 10 and multifunction switch connector C250 terminal No. 1 or DRL control connector C297 terminal No. 3. See Fig 1
. Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster printed circuit and gauge contact clips. See PRINTED CIRCUIT
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Red/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
