Test C: No Communication With Rear Electronics Module (Rem)

NOTE: Turn ignition switch from OFF to ON position to enable system power feature.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove fuse No. 16 (10-amp) from Central Junction Block (CJB). Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between CJB fuse No. 16 input terminal and ground. If voltage is more than 10 volts, install fuse No. 16 and go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair (CJB) power supply circuit.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Rear Electronic Module (FEM) 20-pin harness connector C343. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between REM harness connector C343 terminal No. 3 (White/Yellow wire) and ground. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in White/Yellow wire.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect REM harness connectors C341 (22-pin) and C342 (26-pin). Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure resistance between appropriate REM harness connector terminals and ground. See REM GROUND TERMINALS  table. If resistance is less than 5 ohms at each terminal, repair module communications concern. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - WINDSTAR article. If resistance is 5 ohms or more at any terminal, repair open in Black wire.
