Test A: Instrument Cluster Is Inoperative
- Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C220a and C220b. See Fig 1Fig 2
. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 6 (Red/Yellow wire) at instrument cluster harness connector C220b. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 5 (White/Red wire) at instrument cluster harness connector C220a.. If battery voltage exists at both terminals, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist at both terminals, repair open in Red/Yellow wire or White/Red wire and retest.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Black wire) at instrument cluster harness connector C220a. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 8 (Black/Yellow wire) at harness connector C220a. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 13 (Black/Yellow wire) at harness connector C220b. If resistances are less than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistances are more than 5 ohms, repair affected circuit and retest.
