Test V: Cruise Control Indicator Is Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If cruise control indicator remains illuminated, see appropriate CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEMS article. If cruise control indicator does not remain illuminated, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C220b. See Figure . Disconnect speed control servo connector C122. Measure resistance between terminal No. 5 (Orange/Light Blue wire) at instrument cluster harness connector and terminal No. 1 (Orange/Light Blue wire) at speed harness control servo harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Orange/Light Blue wire and retest.
