Installation (Upper Intake Manifold: 2001 Model Year)

  1. Clean all the sealing surfaces. Inspect the upper intake manifold gaskets. Replace if required. See Fig 1.

  2. Install the upper intake manifold. Install the bolts in the sequence shown. Tighten the bolts in two stages. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . See Fig 2.

  3. Connect the wire harness retaining clip. See Figure.
  4. Connect the electrical connector and vacuum tube to the EVR and the vacuum tube to the intake manifold. See Figure.
  5. Connect the vacuum tube to the EGR valve. See Figure.
  6. Connect the EGR tube to the EGR valve. See Figure.
  7. Connect the PCV tube to the upper intake manifold. See Figure.
  8. Install the upper intake manifold support bracket. See Figure.
  9. Connect the engine wiring harness to the intake manifold support bracket. See Figure.
  10. Connect the IAC and TP sensor electrical connectors. See Figure.
  11. Connect the evaporative emissions return tube and the vacuum hose. See Figure.
  12. Position the accelerator cable bracket and install the bolts. See Figure.
  13. Connect the accelerator control cable, speed control cable and the throttle return spring. See Figure.
  14. Install the snow shield. See Figure.
  15. Install the air cleaner assembly and the air cleaner outlet tube. Connect the battery ground cable.
