4R70W & 5R55N
NOTE:
On 5R55N transmission, add fluid through fluid checking plug located on oil pan. See CHECKING FLUID LEVELS .
NOTE:
Transmission pan gasket is reusable. Clean and inspect gasket for damage, and replace as necessary.
- Raise and support vehicle. Place drain pan under transmission. Loosen oil pan bolts. Drain fluid from transmission. Remove oil pan bolts. Remove oil pan and gasket. Remove filter and seal.
- Remove drain plug from torque converter and drain. Install NEW torque converter drain plug and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Clean oil pan and gasket. Install NEW filter and seal. Install oil pan and gasket. Tighten oil pan bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Fill transmission with appropriate fluid. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS . Start engine and shift transmission through all gear ranges. Check fluid level. See CHECKING FLUID LEVELS . Add fluid as necessary.
