4R44E & 5R55E

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Place drain pan under transmission. Loosen oil pan bolts, and allow oil to drain. Remove oil pan bolts. Remove oil pan and gasket. Remove filter and "O" rings. Clean oil pan.
  2. Install NEW filter and filter "O" rings. Tighten filter bolt to 71-79 INCH lbs. (8-11 N.m). Install oil pan using NEW gasket. Fill transmission with appropriate fluid. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS . Start engine and shift transmission through all gear ranges. Check fluid level. See CHECKING FLUID LEVELS . Add fluid as necessary.
