Removal & Installation (Station Wagon)
- Raise vehicle. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Support lower control arm. On drum brake models, remove brake drum and wheel bearing. Remove brake backing plate from spindle and wire aside.
- On disc brake models, remove disc brake caliper and wire aside. Remove brake rotor, grease cap, hub retaining nut, brake shield, anti-lock brake sensor, and disc brake adapter.
- On all models, remove and discard upper control arm-to-body crossmember bolts and nuts. Remove bolt, washer, adjusting cam and nut attaching spindle to lower control arm. Discard bolt, washer and nut. Remove spindle and upper control arms as an assembly.
- Remove nut retaining upper control arms to spindle. Discard nut. To install, reverse removal procedure. Use NEW nuts, bolts and washers. With suspension at normal riding height, tighten all nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
