Stabilizer Bar & Link Assembly: Removal

Raise and support vehicle. Ensure hoist is behind subframe. Remove wheel and tire assembly. To remove nuts, first loosen nuts, then use hex holding fixture to prevent stabilizer bar link ball joints from turning while removing nuts. Remove and discard nuts attaching link assembly to stabilizer bar and strut.

NOTE: Stabilizer bushing and bracket are part of stabilizer bar assembly. Stabilizer bar will not turn easily in bushing.

Ensure steering column is not locked. Remove bolts and engine roll restrictor, if equipped. Remove catalytic converter. Support converter-to-muffler pipe. Using suitable jackstand, support front subframe, remove and discard nuts and bolts. Support steering gear before lowering subframe. Lower rear of front subframe approximately 4 inches (102 mm). Remove bolts, stabilizer bar and insulator assembly, discard bolts.
