Oil Pan: LS: Removal

- Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
- Remove the upper radiator sight shield.
- Install the special tool.
- Install the special tool.
- Using the special tool, support the engine.
- Remove the generator. For additional information, see GENERATOR .
- Drain the engine oil.
- Remove the front center splash shield.
- Remove the RH front splash shield.
- Remove the A/C compressor. For additional information, see COMPRESSOR - 3.0L .
- If equipped, remove the electronic thermactor air (ETA) bracket bolts.
- Remove the steering gear. For additional information, see STEERING GEAR .
- Remove the LH lower control arm through bolt.
- Remove the RH lower control arm through bolt.
- Remove the LH and the RH engine mount nuts.
- Remove the LH subframe bolts.
- Remove the RH subframe bolts.
- Remove the transmission cooler tube bracket nut.
- Remove the nut and the wiring harness from the stud.
- Remove the transmission-to-oil pan bolts.
- Remove the oil pan bolts.
- Gently pry the subframe down and remove the oil pan.
- Discard the gasket.
NOTE:
On RH drive vehicles, the power steering hose attaches to the oil pan stud.
NOTE:
On RH drive vehicles, the wiring harness attaches to the RH side of the oil pan.
