Child Safety Seat Tether Anchor: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Ford Pickup, 2007 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2007 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2007 Ford Cab & Chassis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: The child safety seat tether anchor/bolt MUST  be securely tightened to specification. Otherwise, the child safety seat may not be correctly secured and the child could be injured if the vehicle is involved in a collision or stops suddenly.

If you have a SuperCab or Crew Cab, Ford recommends you attach child safety seats in the rear seating position (if possible) with a tether strap attached to the tether anchor bracket as shown in the instructions provided with the child safety seat.

Any child safety seat tether anchor in use during a collision must be inspected and installed new if damaged. Rework the sheet metal to its original condition and structural integrity. For additional information, refer to the appropriate Removal and Installation procedure in this article.
