WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Ford Pickup, 2007 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2007 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2007 Ford Cab & Chassis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. A1 CHECK CIRCUITS 65 (DG) AND 1002 (BK/PK) FOR VOLTAGE
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Windshield Wiper Motor C125
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between windshield wiper C125-5, circuit 65 (DG), harness side and ground; and between windshield wiper motor C125-8, circuit 1002 (BK/PK), harness side and ground.
    • Fig 1: Checking Circuits 65 (DG) And 1671 (RD) For Voltage

    • Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?
    1. YES  : Go to  A2.
    2. NO  : VERIFY central junction box (CJB) fuse 33 (15A) and battery junction box (BJB) fuse 1 (30A) are OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. A2 CHECK CIRCUITS 57 (BK) AND 676 (PK/OG) FOR OPENS
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Measure the resistance between windshield wiper C125-6, circuit 57 (BK), harness side and ground; and between windshield wiper motor C125-3, circuit 676 (PK/OG), harness side and ground.
    • Fig 2: Checking Circuits 57 (BK) And 676 (PK/OG) For Opens

    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
    1. YES  : Go to  A3.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. A3 CHECK THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH
    • Disconnect: Multi-function Switch C202b
    • Carry out the multi-function switch component test. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING.
    • Did the multi-function switch pass the component test?
    1. YES  : Go to  A4.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new multi-function switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article.
  4. A4 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR AN OPEN
    • Measure the resistance between C202b-6, circuit 57 (BK), harness side and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
    1. YES  : Go to  A5.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  5. A5 CHECK CIRCUITS 56 (DB/OG), 58 (WH), 61 (YE/RD) AND 63 (RD) FOR OPENS
    • Using the following table, measure the resistance between multi-function switch C202b harness side and windshield wiper motor C125 harness side:

Pin 3, circuit 58 (WH) Pin 11, circuit 58 (WH)
      Pin 4, circuit 61 (YE/RD) Pin 1, circuit 61 (YE/RD)
Pin 1, circuit 63 (RD) Pin 9, circuit 63 (RD)
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
    1. YES  : Go to  A6.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
  6. A6 CHECK FOR CORRECT WIPER MOTOR OPERATION
    • Disconnect all wiper motor connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion.
      • pushed-out pins.
    • Connect all wiper motor connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present?
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new windshield wiper motor. REFER to Wiper Motor  in this article.
    2. NO  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. TEST the system for normal operation.
