- Position the exhaust intermediate pipe and connect the rubber isolator.
- Place new couplings on the catalytic converter-to-exhaust intermediate pipe joint or catalytic convert delete pipe-to-exhaust intermediate pipe joint and the exhaust intermediate-to-muffler joint. Make sure the couplings are installed no more the 4 mm (0.15 in) from the back of the button on the end of the pipe.
- Align the exhaust system. For additional information refer to Exhaust System Alignment in this article.
- Tighten the exhaust intermediate pipe-to-catalytic converter coupling or exhaust intermediate pipe-to-catalytic converter delete pipe coupling.
- Tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
- Tighten the exhaust intermediate pipe-to-muffler coupling.
- Tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
NOTE:
Using an abrasive pad, clean the exhaust coupling surface area of any surface rust.
