Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Removal

- If not done previously, carry out the transmission fluid cooler flow test procedure. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - 4R70E/4R75E article.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Remove the bolts and the skid plate (four wheel drive [4WD] vehicles).
- Remove the fasteners and position the air deflector aside.
- Disconnect the fluid cooler tubes from the transmission case.
- Remove the secondary latches from the fluid cooler tubes.
- Remove the fluid cooler tubes from the bracket.
- Remove the cooler tubes from the retainer.
- Using the special tool, disconnect the fluid cooler tubes from the radiator, and if equipped, the fluid cooler.
