Removal And Installation

  1. Remove the rear seat backrest. For additional information, refer to Seat - Rear  in this article.
  2. Remove the head restraints (one shown).
    • Push the 2 release tabs and remove the head restraint.

  3. NOTE: The inboard and outboard head restraint sleeves are not interchangeable.
    NOTE: If necessary, install new head restraint sleeves.

  4. Push the release tabs and pull the head restraint sleeves out of the frame tube (trim cover and foam pad removed for clarity).
  5. Release the backrest J-clips.

  6. CAUTION: Use care when separating the seat upholstery from the hook-and-loop strip, or the hook-and-loop strip can be torn from the seat backrest foam pad.

  7. Separate the hook-and-loop fasteners.
  8. Remove the hog rings and the backrest trim cover.

  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
