Muffler and Tailpipe: Removal

CAUTION:
Do not use oil or grease-based lubricants on isolators as they cause deterioration of rubber.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Loosen the exhaust intermediate pipe-to-muffler and tailpipe assembly clamp.
- Remove the bolt and the front muffler exhaust hanger bracket and isolator from the frame.
- Remove the bolt and the rear muffler exhaust hanger bracket and isolator from the frame.
- Remove the bolt and the tailpipe exhaust hanger bracket and isolator from the frame.
- Remove the muffler and tailpipe assembly.
NOTE:
Whenever the exhaust intermediate pipe-to-muffler assembly clamp is loosened, a new exhaust intermediate pipe and clamp assembly must be installed.
