Removal And Installation

WARNING: Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
  1. Remove the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE - 4.2L article.
  2. Disconnect the fuel charging wiring harness-to-main engine wiring harness electrical connector.
  3. Disconnect the intake manifold runner control (IMRC) actuator electrical connector.
  4. Disconnect the 6 fuel injector electrical connectors.
  5. Disconnect the 2 wiring harness retainers.
  6. Remove the wire tie.

  7. Disconnect the fuel rail pressure sensor electrical connector.
  8. Remove the fuel charging wiring harness.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
