Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
For vehicles built through 8/2005, whenever power is disconnected (through the battery or through disconnecting the connector) from the CD6 audio unit, then reconnected, the power must be continuous for a minimum of 25 seconds. Failure to follow this instruction may result in permanent damage to the audio unit.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove the audio unit to retrieve the part number. For additional information, refer to AUDIO UNIT PART NUMBER RETRIEVAL .
- Upload the audio unit configuration information to the diagnostic tool. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
- Remove the center instrument cluster finish panel.
- Disengage the clips.
- Remove the 4 screws and the audio unit.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and the antenna lead-in cable.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Download the configuration information to the audio unit. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
NOTE:
Module configuration is only required if a new audio unit is being installed.
