Removal and Installation

- Remove the exterior rear door handle. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE - REAR .
- Remove the rear door window regulator and motor. For additional information, refer to GLASS, FRAMES AND MECHANISMS .
- Remove the rear door window glass. For additional information, refer to GLASS, FRAMES AND MECHANISMS .
- Remove the 3 rear door latch bolts.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
- Loosen the exterior rear door handle reinforcement screw until the exterior rear door handle reinforcement slides free.
- Remove the rear door latch.
- Slide the rear door latch and exterior rear door handle reinforcement towards the front of the vehicle.
- If required, remove the 3 screws and the rear door latch bracket.
- If required, disconnect the exterior rear door handle actuating rod.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Lubricate the rear door latch to striker surfaces after installation.
