Normal Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Milan, 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, and 2006 Ford Fusion. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The headlamps on warning chime sounds when the driver door is opened with the ignition lock cylinder in the OFF position, the key not in the ignition lock cylinder, and the multifunction switch in the PARK or HEAD positions. The smart junction box (SJB) communicates to the instrument cluster when the exterior lamps are on and the driver door is opened. The autolamps feature must not be selected for the headlamps on warning chime to operate.
