Inspection and Verification - Fusion, Milan

When installing a new smart junction box (SJB), it must be configured for this feature, if originally equipped. Refer to

- Verify the customer concern by operating the daytime running lamps (DRL) following these steps:
- Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
- Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
- Release the parking brake.
- Place the transaxle in any gear except PARK.
- If the DRL does not operate, make sure the SJB is configured for DRL before proceeding to the next step.
- Verify the low beam operation.
- Place the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMPS ON position.
- Place the multifunction switch in the LOW BEAM position.
- If the low beams do not operate correctly, refer to HEADLAMPS to continue diagnosis of the low beam headlamps.
- If the low beams operate correctly and the DRL operation is incorrect, proceed to the next step.
- If equipped with a manual transaxle, check the brake warning indicator operation.
- With the ignition switch in the RUN position, apply and release the parking brake while observing the brake warning indicator.
- If the brake warning indicator does not operate correctly, refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER to continue diagnosis of the brake warning indicator.
- If the brake warning indicator operates correctly and the DRL operation is incorrect, install a new SJB. Refer to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . Test the system for normal operation.
- With the ignition switch in the RUN position, apply and release the parking brake while observing the brake warning indicator.
- If equipped with an automatic transaxle, check the transmission control module (TCM) PIDs.
- Monitor the TCM PIDs while placing the gear selector lever through all positions.
- If the gear selection does not match the PIDs, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - 6 SPEED or AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - FNR5 to continue diagnosis of the transaxle.
- If the gear selection does match the PIDs and the DRL operation is incorrect, install a new SJB. Refer to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . Test the system for normal operation.
- Monitor the TCM PIDs while placing the gear selector lever through all positions.
