Inspection and Verification

- Verify the customer concern by operating the vehicle stoplamps, turn signals and rear lamps. If the vehicle exterior lamps do not operate correctly, refer to STOPLAMPS , TURN SIGNAL AND HAZARD LAMPS , or Parking, Rear and License Lamps in this section.
- Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.
- If the vehicle exterior lamps operate correctly, verify the operation of the trailer stoplamps, turn signals and tail lamps.
- If the concern remains after the inspection, proceed to SYMPTOM CHART to continue diagnostics.
