Removal and Installation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Montego, 2006 Ford Freestyle, and 2006 Ford Five Hundred. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove the 2 front bumper cover scrivets.
- Remove the 2 front bumper cover bolts.
- To install, tighten to 7 N.m (62 lb-in).
- Remove the 3 front bumper cover lower retainers.
- Remove the 6 front bumper cover wheel house screws.
- To install, tighten to 2 N.m (18 lb-in).
- If equipped, disconnect the fog lamps electrical connector.
- Remove the front bumper cover.
- Inspect the bumper cover mounting reinforcements for damage. If necessary, install new bumper cover mounting reinforcements.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
The rearward upper portion of the bumper cover must be pulled outward to unclip it from the fender.
