Removal and Installation

- Remove the rear bumper cover. For additional information, refer to BUMPER COVER - REAR, FIVE HUNDRED, MONTEGO or BUMPER COVER - REAR, FREESTYLE .
- Remove the 4 rear bumper nuts.
- To install, tighten rear bumper nuts to 23 N.m (17 lb-ft).
- To install, tighten rear bumper double-ended studs to 12 N.m (9 lb-ft).
- Remove the rear bumper.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Inspect the rear bumper double-ended studs for damage. If necessary, install new rear bumper double-ended studs.
- Tighten to 12 N.m (9 lb-ft).
NOTE:
Anytime the rear bumper nuts are removed, it is necessary to re-torque the rear bumper double-ended studs.
