Removal and Installation

- Remove the radiator grille. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION and REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the front wheel and tire assembly. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove the fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to FENDER SPLASH SHIELD - FREESTYLE .
- Remove the 3 bumper cover-to-fender nuts.
- To install, tighten to 7 N.m (62 lb-in).
- Position the front bumper cover forward to gain access to the front fender-to-headlamp assembly bolt.
- Remove the front fender-to-headlamp assembly bolt.
- Remove the rocker panel molding. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the 2 lower fender mounting bolts located at the lower rear of the fender.
- To install, tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb-in).
- Remove the 2 fender bracket-to-fender bolts.
- Enter through the wheelhouse opening and reach around the fender bracket to gain access to the fender bracket-to-fender bolt heads.
- To install, tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb-in).
- Remove the fender mounting bolt located at the rear of the wheelhouse opening.
- To install, tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb-in).
- Remove the side mirror trim panel located at the top rear portion of the fender to gain access to the fender mounting bolt.
- Remove the fender mounting bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb-in).
- Remove the fender mounting nut.
- To install, tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb-in).
- Remove the fender upper mounting bolts.
- To install, tighten to 12 N.m (9 lb-ft).
- Remove the fender.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
If shims are present during removal, be sure to reinstall shims and check fender alignment.
