Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the 4 transaxle roll restrictor cross brace bolts.
    • Clean the transaxle roll restrictor cross brace bolts using a wire brush and apply threadlock.
    • To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
  2. Remove the bolt and the transaxle roll restrictor cross brace.
    • Clean the transaxle roll restrictor cross brace-to-roll restrictor using a wire brush and apply threadlock.
    • To install, tighten to 48 N.m (35 lb-ft).
  3. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum fitting and position aside.
  4. Remove the brake master cylinder. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the hydraulic control unit (HCU). For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove the redundant self-locking pin cover and the self-locking pin.
  7. Remove the booster rod and washer from the brake pedal.
  8. Remove and discard the 4 brake booster nuts.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  9. Remove the brake booster.
  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
