Removal and Installation

    All vehicles 

  1. Relieve the parking brake cable tension. For additional information, refer to PARKING BRAKE CABLE TENSION RELEASE  .
  2. Remove the 3 parking brake cable bracket bolts from the subframe.
    • To install, tighten to 12 N.m (9 lb-ft).
  3. Disconnect the intermediate cable from the front cable at the cable-to-cable union.
  4. Release the intermediate cable from the body bracket.
  5. Release the intermediate cable from the rear RH cable at the cable-to-cable union.
  6. Release the LH rear cable from the intermediate cable at the conduit equalizer.
  7. Early build vehicles 

  8. Remove the wireform bracket bolt on top of the subframe and remove the intermediate parking brake cable.
    • To install, tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb-ft).
  9. All vehicles 

  10. Remove the wireform bracket bolt on top of the subframe and remove the intermediate parking brake cable.
    • To install, tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb-ft).
