Removal and Installation

    WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, read and follow all warnings, cautions, notes and instructions in the steering column removal and installation procedure.
  1. Remove the steering column. For additional information, see STEERING COLUMN .
  2. Place the steering column in a vise.

  3. Remove the screws and the electronic steering sensor (18B015).

  4. NOTE: Do not disconnect the steering column release motor harness electrical connectors from the steering column release motor assemblies (3D538).

  5. Remove the screws and the steering column release motor assemblies.
  6. WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, read and follow all warnings, cautions, notes and instructions in the steering column procedure.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
