WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Ford Mustang and 1999 Ford Mustang. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If ABS indicator is never illuminated, go to next step. If ABS indicator is always illuminated, repair ABS system as necessary. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect ABS module harness connector C141. Using a fused jumper wire, ground terminal No. 16 (Dark Green wire) at ABS module harness connector C141. See Fig 1 . Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If ABS indicator is not illuminated, go to next step. If ABS indicator is illuminated, replace ABS module.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C251. Measure resistance in Dark Green wire between terminal No. 16 at ABS module harness connector C141 and terminal No. 15 at instrument cluster harness connector C251. See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace bulb or instrument cluster as necessary. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Dark Green wire.
