Test J: O/D Off Indicator Is Never/Always On

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If O/D OFF indicator is always illuminated, go to next step. If O/D OFF indicator is not always illuminated, go to step  3 .
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C250. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If O/D OFF indicator is not illuminated, repair transmission control switch circuit. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If O/D OFF indicator is illuminated, replace instrument cluster.
  3. Perform dealer test mode. See DEALER TEST MODE  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If O/D OFF indicator operated properly during "bulb" portion of test, repair transmission control switch circuit. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If O/D OFF indicator did not operated properly during "bulb" portion of test, replace bulb or instrument cluster as necessary.
