Fuel Pressure Relief

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Ford Mustang and 1999 Ford Mustang. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: Fuel supply lines on fuel injected engines remain pressurized for long periods of time after engine shutdown. System pressure MUST be relieved prior to fuel system service to prevent possible injury. A valve on fuel injector supply manifold is provided for this purpose.
CAUTION: Use a rag as protection from fuel spray when disconnecting hoses. Plug hoses after disconnection. Keep open flame away from any fuel related components.

Remove air cleaner. Unscrew and remove fuel pressure relief valve cap on fuel supply manifold. Connect Fuel Pressure Gauge (T80L-9974-B) to fuel pressure relief valve. Open manual valve on fuel pressure gauge to relieve fuel system pressure.
